65 deportees arrive Lagos from Europe

Sixty-five Nigerians were on Friday deported from Europe, an official of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said in Lagos.

The FAAN official, who will rather remain anonymous, said this at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s Cargo Section in Lagos.

The source noted that the deportees were expelled from the European countries of Spain, Bulgaria, Romania and the United Kingdom.

The source who said that the deportees, who arrived at 7:40 a.m., consist of of 48 males, 12 females and five children, noted that they were arrested for allegedly having expired documents and being illegal aliens.

The source said that eight of the deportees, including three females, were deported for alleged criminal of-fences.

He said that the eight persons, who were immediately arrested by policemen on arrival in the country, were taken to the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Nigerian Police Force, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos, in a Toyota pick-up with registration number “Ontario AZKC-549”.
