NEWS: Group Hails Suswam Over United Nations' Award

The Benue Youths in Diaspora Association has commended the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rt. Hon Gabriel Suswam over his United Nations Children's Fund Award organized by the Luther King (jnr) Foundation in faraway Atlanta Georgia, United States for his numerous projects in primary health care and water supply.

The President General of the Association, Comrade Philip Agbese in a press statement made available to our correspondent yesterday described the United Nation's award conferred on Governor Gabriel Suswam by the MLK Foundation as another reward for the countless efforts of the Suswam led administration in providing drinking water which is priceless commodity in every human endeavor if life must continue.

Comrade Philip Agbese pointed out that the award which thundered positive applause amongst Benue people across the world particularly those in the Diaspora is well deserved considering the integrity of the giver and the visible achievements of Governor Gabriel Suswam in the grassroots.

The statement further commended Governor Gabriel Suswam for bringing glory and honour to Benue State through his tireless efforts in huge capital investment in life saving ventures, adding that the present administration has indeed served as a bunch of divine blessing in every facet of human development in Benue State.

While eulogising the quality of awards won so far by Governor Gabriel Suswam since assumption of office as Executive Governor of Benue State in 2007, Comrade Philip Agbese argued that the world has come to the inevitable conclusion that Governor Suswam has boldly written his name in gold in the areas of peace and security, infrastructure, education, health care and provision of portable water.

He therefore charged Governor Suswam never to relent in his commitment to build on these achievements for the future generation and those who would come after him to sustain.

"We at the Benue Youths in Diaspora Association are not surprised to see our amiable Governor, Rt. Hon Gabriel Suswam CON in faraway Atlanta Georgia being decorated with the United Nations Children's Fund award in the provision of portable water and primary health care development, his numerous achievements in these capital intensive areas are quite commendable and what the organizers have done is to electrify our joy in Benue State that the whole world has come to recognize and celebrate the good work which Governor Suswam has continue to do for the people particularly at the grassroots".

"The reputation of the giver, Martin Luther King (Jnr) as a lover of the poor and oppressed masses in the society has further justified the commitment and determination of the Suswam led administration to build solid institutions that would stand the test of time and have far reaching impact on the largest population of Benue people irrespective of geographical location or ethnic affiliation."

"While commending His Excellency for bringing glory and honour to the food basket nation, we therefor charged Governor Gabriel Suswam to continue to drive his developmental blueprint in the right direction as only such can sustain the joy and happiness of Benue sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora which the award has brought to bear in the minds of the people," the statement also added.
